MISC:Guinea's climate is generally hot and humid; a monsoonal type
rainy season from June to November with southwesterly winds; a dry
season from December to May with northeasterly harmattan winds. The
terrain is generally flat coastal plain with a hilly to mountainous
interior. 6% of the land is arable, 42% is forested. 82% of Guinea's
workers are engaged in agriculture. Virtually 100% of the labor force
is loosely organized. Guinea became independent in 1958. Member of UN
since 1958.
